About
Teach English and help language learners practice their conversation skills.
Our students are all adults, and they often need extra help learning and practicing English. You would volunteer once a week for 1-3 hours in a classroom or assist with other tutoring activities like: Reading Lab, Conversation Circles, Math Lab, and more.
Volunteers of any and all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Any necessary training and support will be provided.
To get started, please fill out Metro South ABE's volunteer application at www.metrosouth.org/volunteer (scroll down to the bottom of the page).
After your application is reviewed, you will be invited in for a brief orientation meeting to learn more and tour the school. Our volunteer coordinator, Amy, will work with you to find a great fit based on your interests and availability.
- Volunteers must be 18+
- Volunteers will submit a basic background check
- Volunteers should expect to volunteer at least 1-3 hours once a week
